They were the only company that anticipated and allowed for the practical problems of getting steel joists into the flat, and included these costs in their quote. They were extremely sensitive to the impact of the work to my neighbours, and did everything possible to minimise this. They communicated progress and problems throughout, and were flexible in adjusting plans and schedule when the inevitable oddities of a 100 year old tenement block got in the way. He was a visible presence on site throughout the seven months and on days when he had to be elsewhere, was very quick to respond to telephone calls or messages. He would chat with us regularly about the project which made us feel involved and informed.
The quality of construction and attention to detail is outstanding. The engineering aspects of the build, which are now hidden behind the decorative facade, are incredible and it is a testament to the careful planning and care with which Gordon and his team made structural changes to the building that our house above the cellar was unscathed.
